摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a still image decompression device in which a decompres sion time required for the reduced display of code data can be shortened. <P>SOLUTION: An image decompression device 10 is provided with a decompression processing limiting means 18 in addition to a code stream input means 11 for inputting the code stream of code data, a wavelet coefficient value storage means 12 for storing the wavelet coefficient value of the inputted code stream, a coefficient decoding means 13 for decoding the stored wavelet coefficient, a coefficient value inversely quantizing means 14 for inversely quantizing the decoded wavelet coefficient value, an inverse wavelet converting means 15 for converting the inversely quantized coefficient value to a pixel value, a pixel value storage means 16 for storing the converted and decompressed pixel value and a decompressed image output means 17 for outputting the decompressed image stored in the pixel value storage means 16 to a display device.
