<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display controller capable of displaying necessary contents for a display screen for controlling multi-function peripheral equipment, and ensuring the display area of a necessary display picture for the other information processing at the time of controlling the multi-function peripheral equipment, and simultaneously executing the other information processing on a computer. <P>SOLUTION: In a stand-by state for facsimile reception, a reduction button 172 on a counter picture 165 indicating the state is clicked so that a much smaller mini-counter picture 175 can be displayed in the stand-by state, and the other display area is made available for the other information processing. In addition, a reduction button 172 on the mini-counter picture 175 is clicked so that a much smaller micro-counter picture 180 can be displayed in the stand-by state, and the other display area is made available for the other information processing.
