PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air secondary battery wherein electric charge-discharge is possible, wherein a charge-discharge current density is large and wherein a cycle life is long. SOLUTION: The air secondary battery is constituted by constituting an air electrode wherein the electric charge-discharge is possible by using a carbonaceous material containing at least a carbon nanotube as a catalyst or a carrier, by using its air electrode as the positive electrode, and by using its positive electrode, a negative electrode and an electrolyte. Further, the air secondary battery is constituted by constituting the air electrode wherein the electric charge-discharge is possible by using a carbonaceous material containing at least Fullerene as a catalyst or a carrier, by using its air electrode as the positive electrode and by using its positive electrode, the negative electrode and the electrolyte. That which contains 30 vol.% or more of the carbon nanotube is preferable as the carbonaceous material containing the carbon nanotube, an alkaline aqueous solution and an anion exchanger are preferable as the electrolyte, and a hydrogen storage alloy and zinc are preferable as an active material of the negative electrode.
