PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact minus ion generator with high minus ion generating performance. SOLUTION: With the minus ion generator provided with an acicular negative electrode 1, and a positive electrode 2 arranged with an interval from the negative electrode 1, and generating minus ion between the negative electrode 1 and the positive electrode 2 by impressing high voltage between the negative electrode 1 and the positive electrode 2, the positive electrode 2 consists of a conductive polymer with a resistance value capable of restraining electrostatic charge. The minus ion generator is so made as to take out a lot of ion generated by lowering moving velocity of the minus ion, without fear of a physical build getting bulky. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
