PURPOSE: A connector for a card with a metal cover is provided to prevent circuits in the card from being damaged in inserting the card charged with static electricity. CONSTITUTION: A connector for a card(10) having a card inserting part(21) inserted with the card and a plurality of connection terminals contacting with contact parts of the card inserted in the card inserting part is composed of a metal cover(22) covering the card inserting part and coupling to a ground of circuits, and each contact part having contact parts(12a,12c) for grounding and for signaling. The metal cover includes a static electricity preventing device(30) making the shortest distance from the contact part for signaling of the card inserted in the card inserting part, to the cover longer than the shortest distance from the contact part for grounding to the cover.
