<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous data erasure in a groove track. <P>SOLUTION: In a recording medium using both of a land and a groove as a recording track, regenerative laser power for the groove is invariably assigned in track jump even if regenerative laser power for the land is higher than the regenerative laser power for the groove to bring the regenerative laser power for the land into a level close to recording laser power for the groove. This eliminates the possibility that a laser spot crosses over the groove track in the track jump while the regenerative laser power for the land is on, preventing a situation in which the regenerative laser power for the land erases the data of the groove track. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
