DISTANCE MEASURING EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide distance measuring equipment which can correct AF data to adequately match the signal quantity levels of a pair of the AF data. SOLUTION: The computation of correlation values is performed while a pair of window ranges are shifted by using the AF data before correction and a pair of the window ranges when the maximum correlation value is obtained are detected. The differences between the minimum values in the respective window ranges are compared and when the differences are decided to be great, the AF data is corrected and the computation of the correlation values is performed again by using the corrected AF data. As a result, if the maximum correlation value after the correction is smaller than the maximum correlation value before the correction, the result of the computation of the correlation values is adopted.
