PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnet system for electromechanical switching device for which the coil current required by the system can be reduced regardless of the autonomous property from the polarity of the coil current. SOLUTION: This magnet system 100 for electromechanical switching device has an electromagnetic coil system 106. This system 106 partially surrounds an iron circuit 108 having an iron core 110 and a yoke 112. The circuit 108 has a magnetic field excited by the coil system 106. On the outside of the iron circuit 108 having lines of magnetic force superimposed upon the magnetic field of the coil system 106, a permanent magnet 102 is arranged. The line of magnetic force of the magnet 120 intensifies the magnetic field of the coil system 106 in a first area 130, and weakens the magnetic field of the system 106 in a second area 128.
