Polyorganosiloxane with at least three silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms is used as a crosslinking agent in a silicone composition that has a viscosity of no more than 1500 mPas at 25 deg C and is crosslinkable by polyaddition in the presence of no more than 80 ppm of a metal catalyst to form a water-repellent release coating. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a silicone composition capable of crosslinking by polyaddition to form a water-repellent release coating, comprising a polyorganosiloxane with at least two silicon-bonded alkenyl groups, a linear polyorganosiloxane of formula (I) with at least three silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms, and no more than 80 ppm of a platinum-group metal catalyst, where the composition has a viscosity of no more than 1500 mPas at 25 deg C; (2) a substrate with a release coating as above.
