PURPOSE: A method for treating paper wastewater discharged from wet type special fiber paper industry and apparatus therefor are provided to treat PVA(poly vinyl alcohol) of paper wastewater by waste heat recovered from a drying equipment of wet type special fiber paper industry. Paper wastewater containing PVA is dried by waste heat in two cyclone towers. Consequently chemical and biological treating plants for treating paper wastewater are not necessary, and plant for treating paper wastewater is compact. CONSTITUTION: According to the method, the method comprises the following steps: (a) first drying of paper wastewater in a first cyclone tower(5), and generation of sludge as by-product; (b) second drying of discharged paper wastewater from the first drying step, and generation of powder as by-product; (c) and incineration of sludge and powder generated from first and second drying respectively. The shown apparatus comprises the following parts: a drying equipment(7) of wet type special fiber paper; a first cyclone tower(5), equipped with the drying equipment(7) through a ventilating pipe(8), installed a wastewater spraying nozzle(6) and a rotation wing(5a); a second cyclone tower(10), equipped with the first cyclone tower(5), installed a rotating blade(10a); a screw(5), installed at the lower part of the first cyclone tower(5), for disposing sludge; and a screw(10b), installed at the lower part of the second cyclone tower(10b), for disposing powder.
