PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device that can quickly interrupt decoding in the case of interrupting imaging to e.g. conduct new imaging or the like in the midst of displaying an image imaged, encoded and decoded. SOLUTION: A digital camera as the image pickup device picks up an image of a object when a shutter switch 62 outputs a signal SW2 under a depression state of a shutter button (not shown), a compression/expansion circuit 32 compresses picked-up image data in an SNR scalable way and the digital camera performs REC REVIEW display just after the photographing. When the shutter switch 62 outputs the signal SW2, a system control circuit 50 performs photographing, interruption of decode processing, or succeeding photographing depending on a state of a consecutive shot flag. On the other hand, when the shutter switch 62 outputs no signal SW2, the system control circuit 50 allows an image display section 28 to perform through-display. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
