PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently operate a power supply for a main body and a serial interface circuit. SOLUTION: In an AV system having a controller device having a serial interface port connected to a prescribed serial interface, a protocol converter having a serial interface port and a prescribed radio communication system or optical communication system port, and one or more target devices having a serial interface port and a prescribed radio communication system or optical communication system port, a power-on signal for turning on the power supply of the target devices is transmitted to the target devices by means of a prescribed radio communication system or optical communication system, when the protocol converter receives a power-on command which is for turning on the power supply of the target devices and has been issued onto the prescribed serial interface from the controller device to the target devices.
