PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butterfly throttle valve type carburetor which supplies fuel into an intake passage from an idle fuel nozzle hole in idle operation, while preventing adhesion of the fuel to a circumferential wall face of the intake passage to obtain the stable idle operation of an engine. SOLUTION: In this carburetor, the idle fuel nozzle hole 23 is provided such that the idle fuel nozzle hole 23 axially projects from the circumferential wall face of the intake passage 10, on the downstream side of a throttle valve 8 disposed in a closing position of the intake passage 10, adjacently to a passage hole 8b or a cutout 8a of the throttle valve 8.
