PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visually perceivable, simple and intuitive rotary direction indicator. SOLUTION: This rotary direction indicator 10 provided for use with a rotary element for rotating an associated member is provided with a rotary main body 12 fixed in a normal to a central axis 14, and a pair of arrows 18 and 20 which appear to be three-dimensional moving in a clockwise direction or anti-clockwise direction are formed thereon. One of the three-dimensional arrows appears to plunge into the surface of the main body while the other of the three-dimensional arrows appears to rise out of the surface of the main body. Thus, it is possible to provide the visual indication of a correspondence between the rotary direction of the rotary element and the movement of the associated member. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
