SEWAGE AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT APPARATUS

PURPOSE: A sewage and wastewater treatment apparatus is provided, which can reduce nitrate from discharge water containing organic matter of very low content of 0.1 to 0.5 of C/N ratio by microorganism using reducing force of hydrogen generated during electrolysis instead of organic matter. CONSTITUTION: In the sewage and wastewater treatment apparatus containing electrolysis device equipped with cathode(12) and anode(11), the apparatus is characterized in that it comprises a matrix(14) attached on both sides of the cathode(12) for forming biofilm which is made by denitrification bacteria attached thereto and proliferated to collect hydrogen generated from the cathode surface during electrolysis and to remove nitrate using reducing force of hydrogen.
