<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve light emission quality by preventing generation of a dark line and a bright line on a luminescent surface without degrading luminance or impairing a visual field angle. <P>SOLUTION: This backlight is so structured that light entered into a light guide plate 1 is led to its luminescent surface 1a side to emit light from the luminescent surface 1a. A first diffusion sheet 6 having a diffusion layer 15 on one surface is disposed on the luminescent surface 1a side of the light guide plate 1 with the diffusion layer 15 side directed to the light guide plate 1, and a second diffusion sheet 7 having a diffusion surface 15 on one surface is disposed on the diffusion sheet 6 with the side opposite to the diffusion layer 15 directed to the diffusion sheet 6 side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
