<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shading correction method by which an accurate imaging is performed even when a 'swell' occurs on printed matter, and a print measuring instrument using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The shading correction method is used for an imaging apparatus such as the printed matter measuring instrument, for example, provided with two illumination means on the left and right sides of a table. A white reference object placed on the table is first sequentially imaged twice by individually turning on the left and right illumination means in steps S2 and S3 and reference image data WL and WR are obtained. Similarly, the printed matter is sequentially imaged twice by individually turning on the left and right illumination means and measured image data DL and DR are obtained in steps S6 and S7. In steps S7 and S8, the measured image data DL and DR are shading-corrected by the respectively corresponding reference image data WL and WR, and the resulting corrected image data are operated to be averaged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
