PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording apparatus where the length of an image is not restricted and contents of a recorded image can quickly and surely be found. SOLUTION: The information recording method of this invention includes: steps S65 to S69 of recording compressed image data to a single moving picture data file when the size of the moving picture data file is not a prescribed size or over or to a plurality of moving picture data files when the moving picture data file reaches the prescribed size or over, a step S70 of recording a still picture corresponding to a scene change to a single still picture data file when the size of the moving picture data file is not the prescribed size or over or to a plurality of still picture data files when the moving picture data file reaches the prescribed size or over, and a step S72 of recording an attribute record including information denoting a state of one set of contents to a contents database managing the attribute record for each of the contents.
