PURPOSE: An automatic warning method of mechanical defect of a reclaimer is provided to prevent accidents efficiently in operation through remote controlling by automatically detecting mechanical defect or wrong operation and sounding an alarm with processing image without using the specific sensor. CONSTITUTION: Cameras(21,22,23) are installed in the upper part of a reclaimer to photograph the main unit and output image signals. The cameras transmit the image signals to an image processing computer(25) by photographing the indefectible state of the reclaimer. The computer divides the indefectible image into the body portion and the background according to pixel and stores the map. The map is obtained corresponding to the body and the background in operating the reclaimer with the cameras and the computer. The map at indefectible state is compared with the map in operation, and the alarm is output in case of the difference between maps to be over the reference value. Accidents are prevented by detecting and warning mechanical defect or wrong operation automatically.
