PURPOSE: A hot rolled low alloy steel with good corrosion resistance against carbon dioxide for use in line pipe, which is characterized in that Cr content in the hot rolled low alloy steel is regulated in the range of 0.2 to 0.5 wt.%, and the hot rolled low alloy steel has superior corrosion resistance against CO2 under Cl¬- atmosphere with the addition of Co. CONSTITUTION: The hot rolled low alloy steel comprises C 0.01 to 0.07 wt.%, Si 0.1 to 0.3 wt.%, Mn 0.5 to 1.5 wt.%, 0.015 wt.% or less of P, 0.001 wt.% or less of S, 0.05 wt.% or less of Al, 0.06 wt.% or less of Nb or Ti, Ca 0.001 to 0.005 wt.%, Cr 0.2 to 0.5 wt.%, Co 0.5 to 1.5 wt.%, a balance of Fe and incidental impurities.
