<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-sided original reader and a double-sided original reading method which can shorten the total print time of a double-sided book original and reduce memory consumption. <P>SOLUTION: In the double-sided original reader capable of simultaneously reading both the sides of the book original to be moved by feeding, the device is provided with a read control means 120 for outputting a control signal to a printer unit 210 for starting printing pages 1, 2,..., 2(n-1), (2n) for the first half of respective originals when pages 2(n-1) and (2n) for the first half of n-th originals (n=1, 2, 3,..., N) are read when reading one set of double-faced book originals N for two copies. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
