<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for conducting MPEG decoding by transforming an origin coordinates to (0, 0) of a macroblock. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU unit 110 rewrites a slice start code to a value smaller by '1' when information of slice layer or less is extracted from compression coded image information. A variable length code decoding circuit 120 generates a vertical position coordinates VP by using the slice start code rewritten by the CPU unit 110. The decoding circuit 120 decodes a macroblock address to a value smaller by '1' than the value before the compression coding when the macroblock address is decoded, and generates a horizontal position coordinates HP by using the macroblock address after the decoding. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
