PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor for high voltage that has self-curing property without releasing very high energy even during breakdown, and that can operate without any loss even when AC current is used. SOLUTION: This capacitor is wound by at least one sheet of foil (1) provided with a supporting foil (3) used as a dielectric and at least one sheet of conductor layer (4). It is provided with an internal series circuit. The conductor layer (4) covered on the dielectric or the conductor layer is divided in a plurality of areas (4.1 and 4.2), comprising the internal series circuit. The areas (4.1 and 4.2) are correlatively arranged, or they are connected with each other in some case so that a number of unit capacitors connected in series may be formed.
