PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutoff apparatus which includes an elastic body of a cellular structure, and is further improved in cutoff performance. SOLUTION: The cutoff apparatus (10) is available for an underground structure which has an opening through which an excavator or the like is penetrated, for forming a tunnel or a conduit in the ground. The cutoff apparatus is composed of the elastic body (12) of the cellular structure, which is mounted on a peripheral wall surface (22) of the opening of the underground structure, and a single or a plurality of bag bodies (14) embedded in the elastic body and sequentially or intermittently arranged along a hole of the elastic body. The elastic body (12) has the hole (26) formed therein, for allowing the excavator or the like to pass therethrough, and presses the excavator or the like from around when it passed through the hole. The bag bodies (14) are inflatable or deflatable via at least one pipe by supplying fluid or discharging the same. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
