PURPOSE: An inverter motor control circuit and method of an inverter air conditioner is provided to stop driving of the inverter air conditioner if a fault signal is generated in an inverter motor control circuit. CONSTITUTION: An inverter motor control circuit of an inverter air conditioner includes a converter part(20) rectifying and leveling an alternating current power supply(10) and converting the alternating current power supply into a direct current power supply; an inverter part(25) converting the direct current power supply output from the converter part into alternating current power supply and supplying the alternating current power supply to a three-phase inverter compressor motor(30), and generating a fault signal in abnormal working; an IGBT(Insulated Gate Bi-polar Transistor) driver generating a fault signal in abnormal working of the converter part; and a microcomputer(50) controlling driving of the three-phase inverter compressor motor according to the frequency of the fault signal generated in the inverter part. The IGBT driver includes a generating part comparing the voltage supplied to the converter part with a reference voltage and generating a fault signal, and a driving part controlling switching action of a switching element in the converter part.
