<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crime-preventive lighting system having a high intimidation effect to suspicious individuals particularly in a midnight time band by varying a lighting method between a night time band where the visit of a guest or the homecoming of a family member is considerable and the midnight time band where the visit of the guest or the like is hardly considerable. <P>SOLUTION: This lighting system comprises a human body detecting sensor 5 set on the outside from a wall 1 provided with an entrance door 4 for partitioning the inside from the outside; an entrance light (first luminaire A) set in the vicinity of the human body detecting sensor 5 on the outside of the wall 1; and an indoor light 10 (second luminaire B) set on the indoor side of the entrance light 11. Two lighting control modes of night mode and midnight mode are switched by a clock means 8, so that, in the night mode, the entrance light 11 and the indoor light 10 are simultaneously lighted by the human body detecting sensor 5, or the indoor light 11 is lighted later than the entrance light 11.
