<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cluster system capable of preventing a trouble in power source failure, and to provide an operation managing device and a method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: When a failure is generated in a power source system of one of devices of servers 5a-5d and RAID 4a-4c, the electric power is backed up by one of UPS 30a-30c. During the backing-up, the servers 5a-5d perform the system reconfigurating processing for assigning the role of the device of the power source failure to the other devices for securing the consistency as the cluster system. For example, when the power source system of the server 2a is failed, the job having done by the server 2a is assigned to the other servers 2b-2d, and the sharing relationship of the RAID 4a-4c by the servers 2b-2d is changed. Operation managing devices 10a-10c stop the power supply to the servers and the UPS receiving the power from the failed power source system, after the termination of the system reconfiguration processing is confirmed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
