<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road map display which, at high speed, perform coordinate transformation processing for transforming a road map data on a two-dimensional plane into a bird's-eye view displaying data. <P>SOLUTION: This road map display obtains two-dimensional coordinates of a road map data from a map information storage on the basis of the present position and the direction of proceeding of its own vehicle, and displays a road map determined by the two-dimensional coordinates on a display screen as a plan view. In the road map display, trapezoidal transformation parameters are set, on the basis of a transformation formula for transforming the two-dimensional coordinates of a specified quadrangle so as to reduce the upper side with respect to its base properly, and transforming the two-dimensional coordinates of the road map data into trapezoidal coordinates for scenographic display, and a road map data contained in inverted trapezoidal coordinates determined on the basis of an inversion formula of the transformation formula is read out from the map information storage, and led into the trapezoidal coordinates determined by the trapezoidal transformation parameters, and a road map in the direction of proceeding of the vehicle determined by the led-in road map data is drawn and displayed as a scenograph. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
