<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize good transmission quality by restoring gain profile changes caused by dispersion in the production of the parts and secular deterioration back to normal. <P>SOLUTION: An optical relaying device 10 is provided with an optical amplifier 12 which amplifies wavelength multiplexed signal light beams in an optical fiber transmission line 11, a Raman amplification stimulating light source 13 which amplifies the wavelength multiplexed signal light beams being inputted into the amplifier 12, a variable optical attenuator 14 which attenuates the wavelength multiplexed signal light beams being inputted into the amplifier 12 and a control section 15 which monitors the wavelength multiplexed signal light beams outputted from the amplifier 12 and controls the light source 13 and the attenuator 14 so that power for every wavelength of the wavelength multiplexed signal light beams is made uniform. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
