PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertically movable window at a low cost by employing a same basic structure regardless of single hanging or double hanging and using common parts between both as much as possible. SOLUTION: The vertically movable window is provided with a sash frame 3, an inner shoji screen 1 and an outer shoji screen 2. The inner shoji screen 1 can be vertically moved by connecting a rod 4 for the inner shoji screen attached retractably to a sash vertical frame 15 on the lower part of the inner shoji screen 1 and a balancer 8 for the inner shoji screen 1 fixed on a sash upper frame 13 by a wire 6. The outer shoji screen 2 is fitted to a guide piece 10 fixing the upper part of the outer shoji screen on the upper part of the sash vertical frame 15, and a rod 5 for the outer shoji screen attached retractably to the sash vertical frame 15 on the lower part of the outer shoji screen is engaged with a stopper 11 fixed on the intermediate part of the sash vertical frame 15 to form a fixed shoji screen. The rod 4 for the inner shoji screen 1 and the rod 5 for the outer shoji screen 2 are substantially the same members. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
