PURPOSE: To prevent a light guide plate from being melted even when the temperature to be generated from light sources rises as to a back light device having light sources generating heat such as fluorescent tubes. CONSTITUTION: In a back light device which is provided with fluorescent tubes 23, each of which emits light by being supplied with a power source at the electrode parts 31 of the fluorescent tube and a light transmission plate 24 guiding rays of these fluorescent tubes 23 to a liquid crystal panel, heat radiating members 40A radiating the heat generated at electrode parts 31 of the fluorescent tubes are arranged at corner parts 24a of the light transmission plate 24 opposing to the electrode parts 31 of the tubes 23.
