PURPOSE: A coated magnetic recording medium is provided to realize the magnetic medium having excellent magnetic and electronic exchange characteristics, and traveling durability. CONSTITUTION: A coated magnetic recording medium is manufactured by coating a polyester film with a magnetic paint. The magnetic paint is formed of a magnetic substance, a binder, a dispersing agent, a lubricant, and a solvent. 0.5 to 2.0 mole % of the dispersing agent to a functional group is substituted by sulfonate(-SOO-M+). A polyvinylchrolrde resin having the mean polymerization degree in the range of 100 to 200 is 5 to 10 weight % to the binder content.
