APPARATUS FOR MEASURING THICKNESS OF FREEBOARD AND SLAG OF LADLE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING BLOWING DEPTH OF UPPER LANCE BY USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A thickness measuring apparatus for a freeboard and a slag of a ladle and a method for controlling blowing depth of an upper lance are provided to improve a reactive property between molten steel and the slag by simultaneously measuring thickness of the freeboard and the slag of the ladle. CONSTITUTION: A thickness measuring apparatus for a freeboard(31) and a slag(7) of a ladle includes an accelerometer attached to a supporter(4). An upper lance(3) is attached to an upper portion of the supporter(4). A porous plug(2) is formed at the bottom of a ladle(1). A moving position of the upper lance(3) and flow rate of gas are controlled by a programmable logic controller. A signal generated from the accelerometer is processed through a signal processing device. A calculator collects and analyzes the signal so as to calculate thickness of the freeboard(31) and the slag(7). Blowing depth of the upper lance(3) is set based on thickness of the freeboard(31) and the slag(7).
