<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a karaoke machine which can prohibit the display of a small 'kana' (giving the pronunciation of a Chinese character or a foreign language) given to a lyric to be displayed on a monitor according to a user's request. <P>SOLUTION: The karaoke machine is provided with a monitor (10), a first storage means (2) to store the lyric and the graphic character data of the small 'kana' written in lyric data tracks, a lyric display part (8) to create the lyric to be displayed on the monitor and the image of the small 'kana' according to the graphic character data, a second storage means (2) to store or erase specified information for prohibiting the display of the small 'kana' according to an external input, and a small 'kana' display control means (15) to prohibit the creation of the image of the small 'kana' by the lyric display part when the specified information for prohibiting the display of the small 'kana' is written in the second storage means. A distance ΔX between characters is recorded on the lyric data tracks, and described with codes which are not used for the display of the lyric and the small 'kana' and different for each distance between the characters. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
