<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent peeling of projecting parts which are the base of the rugged structures of reflection electrodes. <P>SOLUTION: The reflection type liquid crystal display device has glass substrates 581 and 582, transparent electrodes 60 disposed on the substrate 581, insulating films 44 disposed on the substrate 582 and formed with the rugged structures 50, the reflection electrodes 51 disposed on the films 44 and a liquid crystal layer 61 sandwiched by the electrode 60 side and the electrode 51 side. The films 44 have first insulating layers 45 arranged irregularly with a multiplicity of recessed parts 46 isolated by enclosing with the projecting parts 47 its circumference and second insulating layers 49 covering the entire part of the layers 45. The projecting parts 47 are connected like a net over the entire part and therefore even if the adhesion to the ground surface is partly weakened, these portions are supported by the surrounding projecting parts 47. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
