PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for dynamically assigning wireless terminals to one of a plurality of base stations on an in-home digital network in which functional reliability is high and costs are comparatively reduced. SOLUTION: In the method to be distributively and independently executed in each of the base stations, each of the base stations measures the strength of a connection between the base station itself and a terminal located within its own range. On the basis of global information obtained by using a prescribed algorithm such as assigning the terminal to the maximum connection strength while taking into account a hysteresis and a threshold, for example, in all the base stations, the assignment of the terminal to the base station can be calculated as well. When the newly calculated assignment is changed from the existent assignment, the base station transmits hand-over for triggering a corresponding succession action to all the base stations. By distributively performing the method, the fault resistance of a high level is provided. By using the method, comparatively simple performance is enabled at the same time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
