PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging element capable of outputting imaging signals from a plurality of output ports in parallel read out through random accessing and needing no complicated signal processing at a post stage. SOLUTION: By selecting a read start address of a vertical shift register 12 to be an address A, a read end address to be an address B, a read address of a horizontal output circuit to be an address C, and a read end address to be an address D, a random access read area 20 in an entire pixel area of a pixel section 11 is specified. In the case of random accessing where an imaging signal is obtained from the random access read area 20, pixels configuring the random access read area 20 are scanned in vertical and horizontal directions and a selector switch 16 outputs video signals obtained by the scanning in series to a single random access output port 17.
