The invention relates to a method of bleaching high-quality paper pulps, which are obtained from herbaceous or shrub plants (flax, hemp and kenaf, among others), using a lacasse-type ligninolytic enzyme in the presence of redox mediators. Said pulps, which are used for special purposes (such as tea bags, coffee filters, cigarette paper and masks, among others) and certain non-paper uses, are difficult to bleach using chemical reagents containing ClO2 which is currently used instead of Cl2. The inventive bleaching method affords environmental benefits, by eliminating the disposal of chlorinated products with the effluents, and said method can be used to produce high-quality, high-brightness pulps. Moreover, the pulps produced using said simpler, inventive method have a low lignin content and use fewer chemical reagents for the purpose of bleaching.
|
