A mixer unit has a rotating shaft with two or more mixer blades resting on a float bearing, and rotated by induction or magnetism. The paddles (4, 5) are constructed and arranged such that the sum of their axial thrust (7, 9) approximately counterbalances the sum of the axial flow components (8, 10). The lower propeller (4) generates a liquid flow pattern (7) which is directed away from the float bearing, generating thrust (8) through the shaft towards the bearing. The shaft has two propellers with pitch in opposite direction to each other.
