APPARATUS CAPABLE OF EASILY CONTROLLING ROLLING MILL IN EMERGENCY

PURPOSE: A rolling mill controlling apparatus is provided to prevent a material to be rolled from being broken by releasing rolling force from the material when a malfunction occurs in a cylinder operating a rolling mill. CONSTITUTION: A rolling mill controlling apparatus includes a position detector(4) for detecting an operating position of a cylinder(3), which operates a rolling roll(2), and a rolling force detector(5) for detecting rolling force of the rolling roll(2) applying rolling force to a material(1) to be rolled. Data detected by the position detector(4) and the rolling force detector(5) are compared and calculated by a controlling calculator(15) so as to control servo valve(6). The servo valve(6) is connected to both hydraulic pump(9) and quick open device(7) so as to control flow rate of fluid supplied into the cylinder(3). A flow rate detector(12) is connected to a flow rate detecting control section(13). An emergency control section is provided to shield fluid introduced into the servo valve(6).
