PURPOSE: A method for displaying an RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator) in a mobile communication terminal is provided to compare the number of RSSI bars with the number of previous RSSI bars, to increase and decrease the number of the previous RSSI bars according to a compared result, and to control measurement time intervals for the RSSI, thereby adaptively displaying the number of the RSSI bars to the number of the previous RSSI bars. CONSTITUTION: A controller sets RSSI measurement time intervals(S11), and decides whether the measurement time intervals elapse(S12). If so, the controller measures an RSSI, and detects the first RSSI corresponding to an RSSI level of the measured RSSI(S13). The controller decides whether the detected first RSSI is the same as the second RSSI(S14). If not, the controller compares the first RSSI with the second RSSI(S15). If the first RSSI is bigger, the controller increases the second RSSI by 1(S16). If the first RSSI is smaller, the controller decreases the second RSSI by 1(S17). The controller decides whether the increased second RSSI is the same as the first RSSI(S18). If not, the controller reduces the RSSI measurement time intervals, and completes the process(S19).
