<p>A method and an arrangement in which a selected part 12 of an optical fiber comprising a glass fiber core and a coating is inspected by holding the part in a first position in front of one or more cameras 14 connected to an image processor 15. Irregularities within the part are located by means of said camera and image processor. The part is moved to a second position and the process of locating irregularities is repeated. The fiber is moved in its longitudinal direction to a third position and the process of locating irregularities is again repeated. The above steps are continued in a sequential or non-sequential order until the inspection is finished.</p> |
