The noise reduction device has a working load applied to the driven shaft, which acts as an equalizing shaft (6), in the idling region of the drive shaft, independent of revs. The equalizing shaft of part of it may be in a casing (2) spaced out from this shaft. There may be oil (7) in the intermediate cavity (4) between the equalizing shaft and the casing.
