A process for producing a fixture for an airbag module comprises: (1) positioning a threaded element in an injection molding tool; (2) producing a thermoplastic frame (10) which surrounds the element; (3) positioning the frame in an injection molding tool to produce the inner lining carrier; (4) forming the carrier; and (5) removing it from the mold. The element is a metallic unit, and the thermoplastic material is acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, PA (sic.) or polycarbonate. A blind hole is formed in the frame, and is used to help position the frame in the mold. Mat elements are attached to the frame, and the inner lining carrier is formed from polyurethane.
