Production of a shaped body comprises dividing a settable and flowable composition into droplets, freezing the droplets using a coolant and drying and/or calcining the frozen droplets. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus which comprises a divider unit, low temperature cooling apparatus and drying apparatus.
