A tool defining an axis (9), serving for detachably retaining a screw eye (2) during a screwing-in or unscrewing operation by means of a power drill, the screw eye being comprised of a helical shank (4) and a head (5) in form of a ring having a preferably round profile. The tool comprises a handle (3) for fixing the tool (1) in a chuck of a power drill, a base (7) located on the handle and extending mainly parallel to the axis of the tool with a rest (8) located at a distance from this axis mainly corresponding to the radius of the profile, and a fork (10) located on the base for receiving an area of the shank near the head. On the base, a first fixed hood (11) is furthermore located for overlapping a section of the head (5) of a screw eye (2) located on the rest (8) from the outer side, and a second fixed hook (12) for simultaneously overlapping an opposite section of the head (5) from the inner side. The tool has a simple and inexpensive structure that operates reliably and effectively at use and that at the same time is easy and quick to operate.
