PURPOSE: A method for sensing an alarm register state change in a mobile communication system is provided to understand a current state change of an alarm register by using an XOR and an OR operation, and to find out a failure by performing bit unit examination only when the state change is sensed, thereby lowering an occupancy rate of a CPU. CONSTITUTION: A system processor monitors a failure(S101), and stores the failure in a current state of an alarm register(S102). The system processor performs an XOR operation with byte units with a previous state of the alarm register(S103). The system processor performs an OR operation with byte units for results of the XOR operation(S104), and compares results of the XOR and OR operations with '0'(S105). If the results are not '0', the system processor starts to compare bit units of the previous state of the alarm register and the current state of the alarm register(S106). The system processor understands failure generation, and informs a user of the failure(S107). If the results are '0', the system processor stores contents of the current state of the alarm register in the previous state of the alarm register(S108).
