A process for producing (meth)acrylic acid which comprises the steps of bringing a (meth)acrylic-acid-containing reaction gas obtained by catalytic vapor-phase oxidation into contact with an absorbing solvent to obtain a (meth)acrylic acid solution and introducing the (meth)acrylic acid solution into a distillation column to purify the (meth)acrylic acid, wherein the (meth)acrylic acid solution to be introduced into the distillation column is regulated so as to have a dissolved oxygen concentration of 12 wt.ppm or higher before being fed to the distillation column. Alternatively, in an azeotropic dehydration/distillation step, a phenolic inhibitor is fed to the azeotropic dehydration/distillation column in a position not below the plate to which the feed material is supplied, and a copper compound inhibitor is fed in a position below the plate to which the feed material is supplied. Thus, the generation of a (meth)acrylic acid polymer in the distillation column and clogging with the polymer are prevented and (meth)acrylic acid can hence be stably purified by distillation over long.
|
