An ink for inkjet recording which comprises water, a water-soluble organic solvent, a water-insoluble color material, an dispersant and a compound represented by the following chemical formula (I): R - O - (CH2CH2O)n - H (I) wherein R represents an alkyl having 25 to 150 carbon atoms, and n is a number of 2 to 100. The ink is excellent in the prevention of clogging of a nozzle, exhibits good dispersion stability, and can achieve stable ink jetting even during long time continuous operation or after a long time stop of operation, that is, exhibits good re-dispersion, while maintaining its performance capabilities such as good storage stability, high quality in recording images and the like. |
