PROCESSES FOR PRODUCTION OF POWDERED FLUORORESINS BEARING CURABLE FUNCTIONAL GROUPS AND COATING COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THE SAME

The invention provides a process for producing a powder coating composition either by desolvating a curable fluororesin to obtain a resin serving as the chief material and then adding coating additives such as a curing agent to the resin or by dissolving or dispersing a curable fluororesin, a curing agent, and various additives in a solvent to prepare a raw material fluid and then removing the solvent from the fluid, which process does not suffer from gelation. The process comprises introducing a solution or dispersion obtained either by adding a gelation inhibitor (B) to a solution or dispersion of a curable fluorocopolymer (A) and then mixing the resulting system or by adding a gelation inhibitor (B), a curing agent (C), and, if necessary, various additives (D) to the solution or dispersion and then mixing the resulting system to a thin-film vacuum evaporator to thereby remove the solvent from the system.
